“Success Breeds Success”
As the winter storms begin to fade and we begin to think of the coming spring, we as teachers begin to realize that the school years end is looming on the horizon. During our reflection we ask ourselves have we given enough to each student or have we missed some key with a particular student that would make the difference in being successful or not? These and others are questions we ask over and over each year. As educators we strive to empower our students to take responsibility for their education. We want students to understand that they too can achieve their dreams, if they are willing to lay the foundations for those dreams. We also understand that the seeds that we plant in their minds may take years to grow and take hold; therefore, we may never see the fruits of our labor.
State mandated testing also causes a sense of anxiety among teacher as well as students. Teachers continue to question have I done all that I can to insure the success of my students? As the year continues to progress we will provide each student the opportunity to be successful. As a district we will provide the opportunity for each teacher to be successful. There is an old axiom that states “success breeds success”. As parents and a community we can all share in helping each student understand the importance of education by supporting students and the school community.

The Washington State Healthy Youth Survey measures health risk
behaviors that contribute to morbidity, mortality, and social problems
among youth in Washington State. The survey results are an important source of needs-assessment data for
school districts, community-based organizations, local health and human
service agencies, and state agencies. The results are used to monitor
the health status of adolescents and track progress on state and federal
education and health-related goals. Read Informational Flyer (English or Spanish)
