WELCOME BACK It is exciting getting ready for another school year.  Students come back excited to see friends and to start a new year.  We all come with high expectations of the new challenges that we have in a new grade, participating in sports and the other activities that school offers. A focus for our staff is to challenge and advance each student to achieve their maximum potential.  As we all know, many of us would rather choose the path of least resistance and our students are no different than we are.  What we know that our students may not, is that you can not reach your potential without stretching yourself beyond your comfort zone.  You must take the extra risk and challenge yourself to reach the next level.  No one likes to be uncomfortable but as educational professionals we must help our students to take that next step.  We will be there to be their safety net, but they need the support of staff, parents, and community to achieve all that they can be. The district office, building administrators, teaching staff, classified staff and transportation personnel are here to help each child reach their fullest potential.  Again, welcome back and let us know if we can assist you with any specific issues. A special thank you goes out to our PTSA members for all of the hard work they continue to do for the staff and students. The Best 20 Minutes of your Day Reading with your child is one of the most effective ways to improve your child’s reading ability. Twenty minutes of parent-guided reading is fun for parents and has long-lasting benefits for kids. School Board Meetings Regular meetings of the Winlock Board of Directors are on the third Wednesday of each month @ 7:00 p.m. at the district office. All meetings are open to the public.
